CRPF jawan martyred, 3 suffer bullet injuries in gunfight in Manipur’s Jiribam
PTC News Desk: One Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer was martyred in a gunfight in Manipur's Jiribam district. Another CRPF jawan and two state police commandos were injured.
According to police, armed miscreants and a combination of state and central security forces began exchanging fire around 9.30 a.m. in Jiribam district's Mongbung and Seijang villages. During the incident, 43-year-old CRPF driver Ajay Kumar Jha, a Bihar resident, was hit on the forehead. He was sent to Jiribam District Hospital, but the hospital authorities declared him dead.
Another CRPF jawan was shot in the leg during the encounter, as were two Manipur commandos. The injured are being treated at the Jiribam District Hospital. The gunfight ended at 11.30 a.m.
