German Chancellor Scholz meets PM Modi in New Delhi; talks on defence, trade
PTC News Desk: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is on India visit for two day state visit. Following a rousing welcome on arrival, on Friday morning he met with PM Modi at his official residence. Later both the leaders jointly inaugurated the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business 2024 and held bilateral talks.
With an aim of strengthening bilateral strategic ties, both the leaders discussed a range of issues focusing on defence, trade, and clean energy.
In this world we need friends and allies – just like India and Germany.

Speaking about his meeting with PM Modi, Chancellor Scholz said, "In this world, we need friends and allies – just like India and Germany. Dear Narendra Modi, thank you for your warm welcome in New Delhi."
Germany is India's one of the most important partners in Europe. The two countries have had a 'Strategic Partnership' in place since 2000, which has been further strengthened with the launch of IGC at the level of heads of government. The two countries have collaborations on various fronts such as defence, science and technology, investments and higher education. India and Germany share a robust economic and developmental partnership.
