Noida: In a horrific, unfortunate and unsettling incident from Noida, an elderly woman crushed to death by speeding SUV inside Noida’s housing complex.
The dreadful incident unfolded when 76-year-old woman identified as Krishna Narang was out for an evening walk and was hit by speeding SUV which rushed out of the basement at high speed.
The spine-chilling incident has been captured in the CCTV footage which depicts the terrible incident of Mahagun Modern Society in Sector 78.
As per the CCTV footage, the speeding SUV rushed out of the basement and slammed senior citizen crushing her with sports utility vehicle wheels. She received several injuries on her head.
Several witnesses who were spending their evening in the house complex gathered at the mishap site and came forward to help the elderly woman.
According to the eye-witness and authorities, driver of SUV himself took Krishna Narang to the hospital but she succumbed to injuries.
Senior citizen, Krishna Narang lived with her husband in the upscale Mahagun house complex. Neighbours and eye-witnesses described an elderly lady as a sweet, religious and devoted person who visits the temple every day. Though, it was an accident case, Krishna’s family declined to get her post-mortem and autopsy done.
As per the preliminary investigation, SUV driver was talking on the phone when the accident took place.
A case has been also registered against the SUV driver and further investigation is underway.
Such incidents in housing complex raises safety concerns of residents of the area especially children and elderly people. People should focus and adopt the ‘Don’t talk and drive’ rule.
Talking while driving is not only dangerous but has also become a fast-growing killer.
