Taking strong exception to the Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s assertions at literary fest at kasauli this morning, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is up in arms against him and asked Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh to throw him out of cabinet for making such preposterous statements compromising the very spirit of Indian nation.

Hailing his recent trip to Pakistan, Sidhu has said that travelling in Pakistan is excellent as there is one language, one food culture and one people contrary to visiting South India where different languages are spoken and one has to learn Telugu to interact with people besides having to eat different kind of food suggesting that travelling in India is nightmare while in Pakistan is like ones dream land.

Lambasting Sidhu for denigrating the diversity of India- its different regions, different style of dresses, music, food culture and languages and dialects, senior vice president and spokesman of the SAD Mahesh  Inder Singh Grewal said that Sidhu must be penalized for insulting the nation.

Grewal said that Sidhu has become self styled spokesman and ambassador of Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan and has been praising him and Pakistan to skies day in and day out forgetting that the unity in diversity is USP of India where people speaking different languages, living in diverse cultures and different regions and climates shares h feeling of one nation and one people.

The SAD leader asked  Congress president  Rahul Gandhi to clarify that whether it was th party’s policy to decry the cultural diversity ranging from Himalya down to Kanyakumari and instead cherish for one language and one food culture. If not, then Rahul should reign in such loose cannons in his party.

Besides, Grewal urged Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh to question near idiosyncrasies of  demagogue  Sidhu and throw him out of his cabinet to show that he is real patriotic soldier who tolerates no non-sense.

Meanwhile,  Grewal also urged Amrinder Singh to roll back hike in power tariff to offer relief to complete beleaguered common man as the power bills have been revised 11 times on one or other  since his g government has come to power. The power tariff is highest in Punjab when compared with other states and differential is much higher with Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu  and Kashmir and Delhi , he added justified his demand for lower power tariff.
