Nepali Army Chief to visit India on Jan 11
Nepali Army Chief General Purna Chandra Thapa will be visiting India on January 11. He will be visiting India from January 11 to 16. According to the media reports, Indian Army Chief, Bipin Rawat, formally invited Nepal Army Chief, Thapa to India. During his six-day visit to India, he will be conferred with Honorary General Chief of the Indian Army by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

This ceremony would take place on January 12 at the Presidential Residence. Also, during his six-day stay in India, Nepal Army Chief would have some high-level engagements. He would be visiting the two Army commands, including South-Western Command and Central Command during that time.

In July 2018, Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat was in Nepal where he was conferred with Honor by the Nepal President, Bidhya Devi Bhandari. This tradition of exchanging titles of both the armies started back in 1950.
