NGT fines Rs 50 crore to Punjab govt on river water pollution issue The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 50 crore to Punjab government on river pollution issue. Also Read: Punjab cabinet approves disinvestment of loss making PSUs According to information, on the basis of the report of Saint Balbir Singh Seechewal, the National Green Tribunal has imposed a penalty of Rs. 50 crore on the Punjab Government. The Punjab government will recover this penalty from those industries which are polluting the environment. Seechewal Committee will be re-submitting its NGT report in January. Earlier, National Green Tribunal (NGT) ordered to shut down 57 industrial units in Dera Bassi in Mohali district. -PTC NEWS
