Nirbhaya's mother's reacts to former Karnataka cop comment that she has a 'great physique'
After former Karnataka top cop H T Sangliana cited that she had a 'great physique', her mother said that Sangliana's 'personal' remark shows that the 'people's mentalities in the society have not changed’.
"It would have been better if he had spoken about our struggle than making a personal remark. It shows that people's mentalities in our society ha(ve)s not changed," Asha Devi said.
A former top cop of Karnataka, H T Sangliana had, earlier on Friday said that Nirbhaya's mother had a 'great physique'.
The former DGP of Karnataka Police also said he could just 'imagine how beautiful her daughter must have been'.
The 23-year-old who was brutally raped in the Delhi on December 16, 2012. She passed away after a prolonged battle with the injuries sustained during the incident. The case had triggered massive outrage and protests across the country.
"I see Nirbhaya's mother, she has such a good physique. I can just imagine how beautiful Nirbhaya must have been. If you are overpowered, you should surrender, and follow up the case later. That way we can be safe, save a life, prevent being killed,” Sangliana said while delivering a speech.
The remarks made by Nirbhaya’s mother, Sangliana said that the remark he made was not an insult, but just a compliment. "This statement was only to highlight the vulnerability of women in general".
