Nirbhaya's mother breaks down in court as convict says he has no legal aid

Nirbhaya Rape Case: The Delhi Court on Wednesday resumed hearing on plea of state and Nirbhaya's parents seeking issuance of fresh death warrant against the 4 convicts. Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi said in a court that "What about my rights? I am standing with folded hands. Please issue death warrant. I am also human. It’s been more than 7 years". Asha Devi broke down and left the courtroom. She said, "Now, I am losing faith and hope. The Court must understand that this is just a delay tactics of the convicts. Now, if a new lawyer is provided to convict Pawan, he/she will take his/her own time to go through case files." She also said that "I am wandering here and there just to get justice for my daughter. These convicts are using delaying tactics. I don't know why the Court is not able to understand this." "The judge does not want to fix a date for execution of the convicts and is supporting them. I appeal Supreme Court to issue the death warrant as the Patiala House Court is in no mood to issue a fresh death warrant," she added. Meanwhile, the Delhi Court has been adjourned for Thursday. It has also asked to provide a list of empanelled advocates to convict Pawan and the Jail Superintendent. The Court has also given liberty to Pawan to choose any counsel from list. Earlier, Delhi High Court had stated that all the four convicts in Nirbhaya Rape case – Pawan, Vinay, Mukesh and Akshay – will be executed together, not separately. The court also asked the convicts to exhaust all legal remedies within seven days. https://www.ptcnews.tv/non-subsidised-lpg-becomes-more-expensive-here-are-the-latest-rates/ Nirbhaya, 23-year-old student, was raped on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012, inside a moving bus in Delhi by six persons, before being thrown out on the road.
