Delhi's Patiala House Court on Saturday dismissed the petition of one of the convicts of the Nirbhaya rape case, Vinay Sharma, seeking directions for his proper treatment. During the hearing of the Nirbhaya rape case, the court observed that the general anxiety and depression in the case of a death row convict was obvious. In the case at hand, evidently, adequate medical treatment and psychological help had been provided to the condemned convicts. publive-image Earlier, Tihar Jail authorities had filed the concerned report in a Delhi Court on the application of Vinay Sharma. The application had sought a direction to provide high-level medical treatment. To this, the public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmad apprised the court that convict Vinay himself banged his head on a wall and that he was attended by the doctors immediately. publive-image The Tihar jail authorities have also submitted the CCTV footage to the Court, he added. Ahmad also said that "There has been no medical history of mental instability of convict Vinay Sharma as claimed by his counsel AP Singh." https://www.ptcnews.tv/nirbhaya-rape-case-convict-vinay-sharma-bangs-head-in-tihar-jail-en/ The public prosecutor also stated that Vinay Sharma made two phone calls recently to his mother and his lawyer. Adding, he said that "Why is his lawyer claiming that he is not even in a position to identify his mother?" Meanwhile, Asha Devi, mother of the Nirbhaya rape case victim said that "It was a tactic to delay the execution. The convicts are misleading the courts. They have exhausted almost all their legal remedies and I believe that they will be hanged on March 3. -PTC News-
