Northeast Delhi violence: IB officer found dead in Chand Bagh area

The violence in northeast Delhi has claimed as many as 22 lives so far with at least 200 injured. Recently, an Intelligence Bureau staffer was found dead in the violence-hit Chand Bagh area in Northeast Delhi on Wednesday. The deceased IB officer has been identified as 26-year-old Ankit Sharma who was dumped into a drain. As per the report, he was on his way back home after the duty when a mob grabbed him and threw him in the drain. According to the information, his mortal remains were taken out of the drain and contained bullet injuries. He was a young joinee who was doing training in the IB and was local of Chand Bagh. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court expressed concern over the body of an IB officer Ankit Sharma found in north-east Delhi. The court said that it was "very unfortunate". The court also asked the highest functionaries in the state and the central government to personally meet the victims and their families. Also, the court said that it cannot let another 1984 happen in this country. The High Court has also directed to set up the helplines for immediate help for victims, private ambulances to be provided for safe passage of victims. Also, the court directed to set up shelters for rehabilitation along with basic facilities. Earlier, Delhi Police Head Constable Ratan Lal had succumbed to his injuries on February 24.
