UN World Happiness Report 2021: Finland is the world's happiest country for the fourth time, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the report released by United Nations on Friday. The report found that even though the emotions changed in unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the longer-term satisfaction with life was less affected. UN World Happiness Report 2021, produced by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, ranked 149 countries based on the gross domestic product per person, healthy life expectancy, and the opinions of residents. Reportedly, the research was done in slightly less than 100 countries this year due to an outbreak of coronavirus while the outcome stated that Finland was the world's happiest country. Meanwhile, 9 of the top 10 happiest countries are European. Besides Finland, Denmark is on second, Switzerland third, Iceland fourth, the Netherlands fifth, Norway sixth, Sweden seventh, Luxembourg eighth, New Zealand ninth, and Austria tenth. UN World Happiness Report 2021: Finland is world's happiest country despite the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the report. Finland has reported one of Europe’s lowest mortality rates in terms of COVID-19. It is pertinent to mention that India was ranked 139 out of 149 countries on the list.
