Notorious Punjab gangster Ravicharan Singh surrenders : One of the most wanted gangsters of the Punjab, Ravicharan Singh alias Ravi Deol on Tuesday surrendered in a local court here.
Ravi Deol was wanted in seven criminal cases, including the drugs scam.
He was a key link in the Jagdish Bhola drug racket case. In 2013, police had found 5 kg ICE and 90 kg of pseudoephedrine, a banned performance-enhancing substance used by sportspersons, from Deol’s house.
The kingpin Ravi Gang suddenly appeared in the court of Additional CJM Mehndiratta through his counsel. The court then informed the police about the surrender.
When contacted, SSP Sangrur Mandeep Singh Sidhu confirmed that his office had received this information from the court.
Ravi Deol belongs to Sangrur and was declared PO in a number of criminal cases in Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala districts.
