It will be host to the World Super Series event in June next year. An announcement to this effect was made by the Odisha Sports Minister, Mr Chandra Sarathi Bahera, in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. He said that the World Super Series event will be held from June 6 to 16 in 2019. He made this announcement in the presence of the President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Dr Narendra Dhruv Batra. Bhubaneswar played host to the 2016 Champions Trophy. In 2017 it organized the World Hockey league finals. And this year, it is playing host to the Odisha Hockey World Cup. Next year will be its fourth successive year in hosting an FIH event. No other city has ever held four FIH events in consecutive years. - PTC News
