Amid the spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant of Coronavirus, the Lithuanian government on Wednesday decided to suspend the use of Covid-19 certificates in the country starting February 5. "With the spread of the much more contagious Omicron variant, both the unvaccinated and vaccinated and recovered people are at risk of infection, informed the Lithuania Health Ministry. "As a result, the effectiveness of Covid certificates as a means of limiting Covid spread is significantly diminished," the health ministry said according to Lithuanian National Radio and Television.
