Operation Blue Star anniversary passes off peacefully amidst questions on Khalistan

On the 36th anniversary of Operation Blue Star on Saturday, Sri Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that if Khalistan is offered, "we will accept it." Meanwhile, a minor scuffle and heated arguments took place between the police and the supporters of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) while entering the premises of Sri Golden Temple, Amritsar, as the anniversary generally passed off peacefully. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Gobind Singh Longowal was also present when Jathedar made the statement.
