Pak PM writes to PM Modi, seeks meeting between Foreign Ministers in US Pakistan's newly elected Prime Minister Imran Khan has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought a resumption of dialogue between the two countries. He has also sought a meeting between Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Pakistani Prime Minister with Sushma Swaraj in New York. Khan's letter to PM Modi came as a response to PM Modi's communique to him in which he had sought a constructive and meaningful engagement between the two neighbouring countries. Pak PM writes to PM Modi, seeks meeting between Foreign Ministers in US Khan in his victory speech had advocated for a dialogue between India and Pakistan and said that his government was willing to take two steps towards peace if India took one. In response to Prime Minister Modi's letter last month, Khan had tweeted saying, "To move forward Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts incl(uding) Kashmir." Khan's India approach has been the central point of speculation ever since he came to power in August. While there were initial reports that his Indian counterpart, PM Modi would be invited for Imran Khan's swearing-in ceremony, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry had denied the reports.
