Panchayat Election : Punjab Government moves application in High Court to review orders
Punjab government has moved an application in Punjab and Haryana High court asking it to review the orders related to panchayat elections.

Earlier, more than 100 petitions were filed against the mass rejection of nomination papers for the posts of panch and sarpanch in Punjab and Haryana high court. Following which the Vacation Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday asked the authorities to pass fresh orders on the nominations. The court sets a 48-hour-deadline for the same.

The Division Bench comprising of Justice Fateh Deep Singh and Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi also made it clear that the order was required to be passed after hearing the petitioner-candidates.
