Panchayat elections 2018 : Last date for withdrawing nominations today
The process of filing nomination papers for the upcoming Panchayat elections ended on December 19. The last date for withdrawing nominations is today for Panchayat elections . Candidates who are willing to withdraw nominations can take away them by 3 pm.

A total number of 48111 nominations papers have been filed for the post of Sarpanchs and 162383 nominations papers filed for the post of Panchs in the state up to December 19.
There are a total number of 12787395 registered voters in the state for these elections, out of which there are 6688245 male, 6066245 female and 97 third gender voters.

According to spokesperson of the State Election Commissioner, the date for withdrawal of the nominations would be December 21, 2018 which would also be the date for allotting the election symbols to the candidates.
The voting would be held on December 30, 2018 from 8 AM till 4 PM and counting of votes would be held same day. State Election Commission has established 17,268 polling booths for Panchayat elections.
