Panchkula: Man found dead inside car, cops suspect drug overdose

A body of 32-year-old Panchkula resident was found inside a car parked at Sector 2 and Sector 4 diving road on late Tuesday. The body was spotted by a policeman on bike while he was on patrolling. The victim has been identified as Virendar Singh, who was a resident of Sector 4, Haripur area of Panchkula. Virendar left his home on Monday evening and did not reached his home. Narendra Yadav, in-charge of Sector 2 police post, stated that "It looks like a case of drug overdose. We will be able to speak more only after getting the postmortem report." According to the information, the victim was released out of a de-addiction centre of Baddi last month and was also facing a divorce, the police said. Meanwhile, a used syringe, was found inside the car. He was locked from inside and hence the police broke the glass to get the victim out. The police has sent the body to the mortuary of Sector 6 and the postmortem was conducted on Wednesday. The police also suspected that the victim might have died a day before the body was found. While police found the body, it was at the driving seat with his hands on the steering wheel. So far, no FIR has been registered in connection with the incident as police do not suspect it to be a murder. The victim is survived by his parents. -PTC News
