Parliamentary Elections 2019: Total 278 Candidates Are In Fray for 13 Parliamentary Constituencies of State A total of 278 candidates are in the fray for 13 parliamentary constituencies of the state of Punjab, 12 candidates withdrew their nomination papers on last day (May 2, 2019) of withdrawal. Disclosing this here today the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Dr. S. Karuna Raju said that 385 candidates had filed their nominations papers for 13 Parliamentary Constituencies of the State. He further said that during the scrutiny 297 nominations were found valid. A total of 30 candidates are left in fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-02 Amritsar as none of the candidates withdrew the nomination. A total of 19 candidates are left in fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-03 Khadoor Sahib as none of the candidates withdrew the nomination, A total of 19  candidates are left in fray for PC 04-Jalandhar (SC) as none of the candidates withdrew the nomination. [caption id="attachment_290862" align="aligncenter" width="750"]Parliamentary Elections 2019: Total 278 Candidates Are In a Fray for 13 Parliamentary Constituency of State Parliamentary Elections 2019: Total 278 Candidates Are In a Fray for 13 Parliamentary Constituency of State[/caption] He further said that a total of 08 candidates are left in fray for  Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-05 Hoshiarpur (SC) as none of the candidates withdrew the nomination, after withdrawal of 1 candidate, 26 candidates are left in the fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-06 Anandpur Sahib, after withdrawal of 1 candidate, 22 candidates are left in the fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-07 Ludhiana, after withdrawal of 1 candidate 20 candidates are left in the fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-08 Fatehgarh Sahib, after withdrawal of 2 candidate 20 candidates are left in the fray for PC 09-Faridkot (SC), A total of 22  candidates are left in fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-10 Ferozepur as none of the candidates withdrew the nomination. "After withdrawal of 03 candidate, 27 candidates are left in the fray for PC 11- Bathinda, after withdrawal of 01 candidate, 25 candidates are left in the fray for Parliamentary Constituency (PC)-12 Sangrur, after withdrawal of 03 candidate, 25 candidates are left in the fray for PC 13- Patiala", he added. The CEO said that a total 2,07,81,211 voters in Punjab 1,09,50735 are male and 98,29,916 are female voters and 560 voters of third gender. The voting would be held on May 19, 2019 (Sunday) from 07.00 am to 06.00 pm. There are 23,213 polling stations on 14460 polling locations from which booths are identified as Critical-249/ Sensitive-719/Hyper Sensitive-509. 12002 polling booths will be covered under web casting on polling day and counting of votes would begin May 23rd, 2019 (Thursday) from 8:00 AM. -PTC NEWS
