Patiala man accidentally shoots self while cleaning gun A 33-year-old man died after accidentally shooting self while cleaning his licensed gun. A resident of Patiala, the deceased has been identified as Gurmukh Singh Tanwar. He had received serious head injuries following which, he was rushed to the local hospital and was later referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education And Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. Where he succumbed to his injuries, police officials said. DSP Sourav Jindal said his family told the police that Gurmukh came back from a party late at night and was unloading his .32 pistol when the incident took place. Police have started inquest proceedings under Section 174 (to inquire and report on suicide, etc) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) after recording statements of the family members. -PTC News
