PC Mody replaces Ramacharyulu as Rajya Sabha Secretary-General

Former chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) PC Mody on Friday took over as the Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha. PC Mody has replaced PPK Ramacharyulu, whose appointment was made less than three months ago. Also read | Punjabi made compulsory for all students from Classes I to 10 in Punjab Mody was appointed as the Secretary-General in place of PPK Ramacharyulu by Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu earlier in the day. (Mint/File) "Rajya Sabha Chairman has been pleased to appoint Pramod Chandra Mody, IRS (retd) and former chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), as Secretary-General, Rajya Sabha, in the rank and status of Cabinet Secretary," an official communication issued by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat said.
