Petrol and diesel prices cut today, check latest rates

Petrol and Diesel Prices Cut Today: The petrol and diesel rates have been reduced on Wednesday, after being kept steady for 23 consecutive days. The fuel prices were last increased on February 27 to an all-time high of Rs 91.17 in the national capital. After the cut in prices of petrol and diesel today, the petrol and diesel rates have been reduced by 18 paise and 17 paise, respectively. With this, the petrol price in Delhi has reached Rs 90.99 per litre which was Rs 91.17 per litre. Likewise, the diesel in the national capital has been cut by 17 paise from Rs 81.47 per litre to Rs 81.30 per litre. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel in Mumbai were being sold at Rs 97.40 per litre and Rs 88.42 per litre respectively, according to the revised rates. It is pertinent to mention the fuel prices vary across states due to the value-added tax. The oil marketing companies including Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil Corporation, as well as Hindustan Petroleum align the rates of domestic fuel with the global benchmarks. Thus, the changes in fuel rates get implemented with effect from 6 am each day. The Brent crude futures increased by 27 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $61.06 a barrel by 0108 GMT while the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures surged by 19 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $57.95 a barrel.
