Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal, on Thursday, released “India Rankings 2020” of the Institutions of Higher Education in various categories on the basis of their performance on five broad categories of parameters. Meanwhile, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh is the country's second-best medical college after Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The HRD Minister released the India Rankings 2020 virtually in 10 categories. Meanwhile, the Minister of State for HRD, Sanjay Dhotre was present during the announcement. This is the 5th edition of India Rankings of the institutions of higher education in India. The HRD Minister said that these rankings are a guide to students for the selection of universities based on a set of criteria and help universities to improve their performance on various parameters and identify gaps in research and areas of improvement.
