Pingalwara opens school for deaf children in Hoshiarpur

The All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (AIPS) opened a new elementary school for deaf children at Kakkon village in Hoshiarpur on Friday. Society president, Dr Inderjit Kaur inaugurate the school. The society has already been running five schools for deaf children in three border districts of Punjab — Amritsar Ferozepur and Tarn Taran. More than 200 students are getting free education from the society’s schools in three districts. She highlighted the problems of deaf children and urged their parents to send their children to schools on a regularly. She also said seven districts of Punjab are still without such schools,but the society aims to fill this gap in future. Ravinder Singh Sodhi from the Pingalwara society of Ontario spoke about the contribution of well-wishers of Pingalwara from Canada in the field of education.He assured that this contribution will continue in future. -PTC News-
