Piyush Goyal announces 'Direct Bank Transfer' of MSP for Punjab farmers
Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal announced that Punjab farmers will now become beneficiaries of the Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) scheme. The farmers will be able to sell their produce at MSP and will get the money directly into their bank accounts.
Taking to Twitter, Piyush Goyal wrote: "In Punjab, now farmers will get the price of their produce sold on MSP directly in their bank accounts. small and marginal farmers will be benefited by this decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

"The benefit of the produce going directly to the bank accounts will also be available to the farmers who cultivate the land on rent," he added.
"Due to transparency in the system, they will not be misled by anyone, and these farmers will also get the full price of the produce," he said.

Talking about the Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) scheme, Piyush Goyal said that this system has been implemented in the entire country with the farmers getting the price of the produce directly in their bank account in Punjab.
"Now farmers across the country, after selling the produce on MSP, will get the money directly in their accounts. This is a major change in the interest of farmers since independence," he said.
