Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal on Saturday urged the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to ensure full safety and security of the railway's system to allow the movement of train services in Punjab. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was quoted by news agency ANI as saying: "Urge Punjab Govt to ensure full safety and security of the entire Railways system and allow running of all trains through and to Punjab so that goods and passenger trains can serve the people of Punjab." He further said, "Operationally important that all tracks, stations, and Railway property are clear for the safety of passengers, railway staff, and infrastructure."
