Panchkula CBI court awards Jaswanti Devi life imprisonment in Apna Ghar Case

The Panchkula CBI court on Friday announced the quantum of sentence to Jaswanti Devi along with 8 others in the Apna Ghar Case. Panchkula CBI court awards life sentence to 3 accused in Haryana’s Apna Ghar child abuse case. Jaswanti Devi, Satish and Jai Bhagwan gets life sentence. Jaswant Singh awarded 7 years imprisonment. On April 18, the special CBI judge Jagdeep Singh had held guilty Jaswanti, owner of Apna Ghar shelter home in Rohtak. The judge had also held Jaswanti’s daughter Sushma alias Simmi, brother Jaswant Singh, son-in-law Jai Bhagwan, cousin Sheela and two other accused Veena and Satish, guilty. In August 2012, CBI had charged the accused under various sections of the IPC, including 313 (abortion carried out forcibly/without consent), 120-B (conspiracy), 323 (criminal assault), 374 (forcing a person to indulge in labour work unlawfully), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation). -PTC News
