Plea to cancel CBSE, ICSE Class 12 exams 2021; Supreme Court adjourns hearing

The Supreme Court of India on Friday adjourned the plea seeking cancelation of CBSE, CISCE Class 12 board exams 2021 till May 31. The plea has been adjourned as the petitioner failed to serve an advanced copy on the standing counsel for the Central Board of Secondary Education. Now, the hearing is scheduled to be held on May 31 at 11 am. As per the report, the Bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari said that “Please be optimistic. There may be some resolution by Monday." The plea was filed in the Supreme Court by Mamata Sharma, an advocate, who sought the cancelation of CBSE, CISCE class 12 board exams 2021. It also seeks to devise results on the basis of alternative assessment. The hearing was scheduled to begin at 10:30 am on Friday but was adjourned. Supreme Court of India on Friday adjourned the plea seeking cancelation of CBSE, CISCE Class 12 board exams 2021 till May 31. Though PIL has been filed for CBSE and CISCE boards, it will affect other state boards as well as several state governments are waiting for CBSE's decision on the conduct of Class 12 board exams. Class 12 exams are considered to be essential for admission to higher education institutes. Likewise, the states' educational boards would also want a uniform mode of assessment.
