PM inaugurates the commencement work of oil refinery in Barmer : Prime Minister Narinder Modi inaugurated the commencement of work at the oil refinery in Rajasthan's  Barmer district. This Hi-tech refinery will be first of its kind in the country. The refinery is presumed to change the growth landscape of  and western parts of the state in particular. The project, which is a joint venture of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited  (HPCL) and Government of Rajasthan is estimated to be set up with Rs. 43,000 crore. Reports say the project will create opportunities for the employment in the state.PM Modi inaugurates work commencement of Barmer refinery in RajasthanThe foundation stone of this project was laid by former Congress president Sonia Gandhi four years ago.
