PM Modi congratulates India’s youngest ever Grandmaster, D Gukesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India’s youngest ever Grandmaster D Gukesh on Friday. He won the title at Delhi International Chess Grandmaster Open held on January 15. Narendra Modi called him “champion of chess” and lauded him for his achievement.
The Prime Minister took to Twitter to congratulate the youngest Grandmaster and wrote “Young D Gukesh has made the country proud by his accomplishment. His diligence and perseverance are noteworthy!”

Father of D Gukesh, Dr Rajinikanth read the tweet and told the media that he is very happy that Prime Minister of India appreciated his son. It is a very proud moment for them.
The chess prodigy started playing chess as an extracurricular activity at an age of seven. What started off as an extracurricular activity soon turned into a passion.
