PM Modi launches 81 projects worth Rs 60,000 crores in Lucknow Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 81 projects worth Rs 60,000 crores in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow on Sunday. These projects were basically a part of the 1,045 MoUs signed at the Uttar Pradesh Investors' Summit organised earlier this year. The Government has promised to create nearly 2.1 lakh jobs in the state with these projects. The event in which he launched 81 projects worth 60,000 crores was also attended by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and business tycoons like Gautam Adani and Kumar Mangalam Birla. PM Modi said, “It is not only a groundbreaking event but also a record-breaking one. People are calling this event a ground-breaking ceremony. But I call this a record-breaking ceremony. The manner in which development works have been carried out in such a short span of time & old methods have been changed, was never seen before in Uttar Pradesh." PM Modi said that these projects will prove to be a big step in giving a new direction to Digital India and Make in India. "Be it setting up of fibre or establishment of IT centre for internet service in Uttar Pradesh, digital infrastructure will give a new direction, new pace to the state," he said. Within a few months, investment proposals for 81 projects amounting to an investment of about Rs 60,000 crore have now materialised. The Reliance Jio Com would be investing Rs 10,000 crores and BSNL is investing Rs 5,000 crores for laying optical cable network in the state. Moreover, Infosys would be investing Rs 5,000 crores and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be investing Rs 2,300 crores to establish IT/TES centres across the state. Moreover, Adani Power is investing Rs 2500 crores to lay 765 KV Ghatampur-Hapur transmission lines. Paytm is also investing Rs 3500 crores to build its campus and headquarters in the region. Prime Minister attended an event to mark the third anniversary of three key government initiatives related to urban development which includes Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (urban), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and the Smart Cities Mission on Saturday in Lucknow.
