PM Narendra Modi hands over Arjun battle tank to Indian Army
PM Modi in Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally handed over the 'Made in India' Arjun Battle Tank (MK-1A) to the Indian Army in Chennai on Sunday.
While giving 'Made in India' Arjun Battle Tank (MK-1A) to the Indian Army in Chennai, PM Narendra Modi accepted a salute by the state-of-the-art tank, indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured by the Defence Research and Development Organisation
(DRDO)'s Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment.

PM Modi said that one of the two defence corridors was in Tamil Nadu. "It has already received an investment commitment of over Rs 8100 cr," he said, adding that he was proud to dedicate to the nation the indigenously designed and manufactured Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1A).
Talking about the two years of Pulwama terror attack, the Prime Minister said that "No Indian can forget this day."

"Two years ago, the Pulwama Attack happened," he said, adding that "We pay homage to all the martyrs we lost in that attack." We are proud of our security forces, he said.
Meanwhile, he lauded Chennai and said that it was full of energy and enthusiasm. "It was a city of knowledge and creativity. From here, we begin key infrastructure projects. These projects are symbols of innovation and indigenous development," said PM Modi in Chennai.
DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy had presented the model of MK-1A to PM Modi who handed it over to the Indian Army Chief.
