PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Indian Science Congress in Jalandhar Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 106th edition of Indian Science Congress at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar on Thursday. Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani and Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Harshvardhan were also present during the inauguration. Prime Minister’s rally will kickstart the political campaign of their alliance partner  Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bhartiya Janta party in Punjab. BJP will hold public rallies in the states like Kerala, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and the other northeast state. PM Modi will address over 25 rallies in these states by January end. Tight Security arrangements : Security has been beefed up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi rally with  more than 5,000 police personnel led by senior police officials keeping a close watch on the proceedings at PUDA ground in Gurdaspur. The security has been beefed up to ensure peaceful conduct of the rally.
