Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the ace badminton player PV Sindhu and Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone for supporting the ‘Bharat ki Laxmi’ campaign. He said in a tweet, “India’s Nari Shakti epitomises talent and tenacity, determination and dedication. Our ethos has always taught us to strive for women empowerment. Through this video, @Pvsindhu1 and @deepikapadukone excellently convey the message of celebrating #BharatKiLaxmi.”

Bharat Ki Laxmi is a movement to honour India’s daughters who have made a mark in various fields. PV Sindhu shared a video on her twitter handle, which features her and Deepika Padukone.
She captioned the video as, “Societies grow when women are empowered and their accomplishments are given a place of pride! I support the PM @narendramodi Ji #BharatKiLaxmi movement. It celebrates the extraordinary achievements of extraordinary women in India. This Diwali, let’s celebrate womanhood.”
Also, PM Modi called on the citizens to outline the achievements of daughters of the country this Diwali, during the 57th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’. He urged the people to share the achievements of Indian daughters using the hashtag ‘BharatKiLaxmi’.
