Police and drug peddlers' exchange fire in Amritsar , two arrested
A police team from Counter Intelligence Team, Amritsar and a gang of drugs peddlers exchanged fire near Satlani Sahib village in Amritsar district on Thursday.
The police was however able to nab two of the gang members and recovered four kg heroin, one revolvers and six cartridges from them.

Inspector Inderdeep Singh said , police had got information that a gang of two miscreants from Attari were in the area for supplying drugs. When we chased them,both started firing at the police party.However,the police was successful in nabbing both drug peddlers.

He added that a preliminary probe indicated that they used to used to procure drugs in a large quantity from Pakistan and were supplying drugs to addicts in different villages in Punjab.
Meanwhile, a case in connection with the encounter and NDPS act has been registered against both accused at Amritsar police station.
