Police detains Bhagwant Mann, Harpal Singh Cheema for protesting in Mohali
Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann and MLA Harpal Singh Cheema have been detained for protesting in Mohali near Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s ‘Siswan Farm House’ against the electricity crisis in the state.
The protest was being held under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann. Water cannons were used by police to disperse Aam Aadmi Party workers.

AAP MLA and youth wing state president Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer had recently said that the people in Punjab were suffering due to the electricity crisis but Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is enjoying his royal farmhouse.

After detention, AAP took to Twitter and wrote: "Coward Captain detains AAP Punjab President & MP Bhagwant Mann the other AAP leaders. Your time is up, Captain! AAP will provide 24x7 Free Electricity to Punjab soon!"
Thousands reached Siswan to check how many hours of the power outage were taking place at CM Captain Amarinder Singh's grand farmhouse.
It may be recalled the AAP National convener Arvind Kejriwal has promised free electricity for people in Punjab if AAP comes into power.
However, he said that it would be free only up to 300 units. If units cross even one unit then the whole 301 units would be payable.
