Polling countermanded in a Nakodar village after a candidate died of heart attack
The candidate in Nakodar in Jalandhar constituency in Punjab died of cardiac arrest on Sunday, an official said.

Following the death of Tarsem Lal, elections will now take place in 13,275 villages out of 13,276 villages to elect panches and sarpanches in Punjab. Around 8000 candidates are contesting for the post of sarpanchas and panches in the state.

A total number of 17,268 polling booths has been set up across the state.The results of the Punjab Panchayat elections will be announces in the evening.
