The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday night detained a Class XI student of the Ryan International School in Pradyuman Murder Case.

Earlier, the Haryana Police had claimed that bus conductor Ashok Kumar, 42, employed with Ryan school, had committed the heinous crime and also said that he confessed of the crime.

In a statement, the CBI said an initial investigation into the case has revealed that the "child in the conflict of law wanted to have the examination and parent-teacher meeting in the school postponed."

Class XI student was seen with a knife inside the school campus on the day the Class 2 student was killed.

The detained student’s father said that his son is innocent.

“I have always cooperated with probe my son's statement was recorded under Section 164. They called me late at night and arrested my son saying that he committed the murder. My son is innocent, in fact, he informed the teacher and gardener when he saw the child (Pradyuman). No blood was found on my son's clothes. My son has not done it CBI has no evidence against him I was not allowed to see him,” the father stated.

The student will now be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in the afternoon, where the court is expected to decide whether he is to be treated as a major or a minor as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
