President of India to visit Halwara Air force Station on March 15 : President of India, Ram Nath Kovind is visiting Halwara Air Force Station to give away the prestigious President’s Standard and Colours awards. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held on March 15. The President Standard and Colours award is one of the greatest honours conferred upon an Air Force Unit or Squadron acknowledging its outstanding service to the nation during war and also in peace and also in the situation of natural calamities.Senior officials of Ludhiana district administration, police and concerned Air Force authorities gathered for a meeting at the Air Force Station on Friday to discuss preparations for the anticipated visit of the President. Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, Pardeep Agrawal said that it was an initial coordination meeting in which the preparations required to be made by civil and police administration were discussed. It is to be mentioned that President Pranab Muhkerjee had visited Halwara Air Force Station to give out the award of President’s Standard and Colours in year 2013.It is to be mentioned President is Supreme Commander of Defence Forces. Halwara Air Force Station is north of Halwara town and 27 km southwest of Ludhiana city.
