Earlier on January 5, 2017, PM Modi had attended 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. PM had also released a commemorative postage stamp to mark the occasion.

In his Mann Ki Baat radio program, broadcasted on December 30, he recalled Gobind Singh’s message that people should consider entire mankind as one. He lauded Guru Gobind Singh Ji for his heroism, sacrifice and devotion.
