Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann introduces suction machine to improve Ludhiana's sewerage network
Ludhiana, August 2: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday launched an initiative to transform Ludhiana into a clean, green, and pollution-free city. As part of this effort, he inaugurated a super suction-cum-jetting machine to mechanise the cleaning of sewer lines, along with 50 tractors for additional support.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the state had invested Rs 1.45 crore in acquiring a state-of-the-art super suction-cum-jetting machine. This advanced machine is specifically designed to clean the city's extensive 200-km main sewerage lines. By addressing the major sewerage problem, it is expected to provide significant relief to the residents of Ludhiana.
The Chief Minister said the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) had acquired 50 tractors at a total cost of Rs 2.22 crore. These tractors were allocated for different departments within the civic body, such as Building and Roads (B&R), Operation and Maintenance (O&M), Health, Horticulture, and others. The primary purpose of these tractors was to facilitate various tasks, including debris removal, water supply through tankers, garbage collection, and other operational activities to enhance the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the city.
