Punjab Covid update: Amid surge in coronavirus case driven by Omicron subvariant BF.7 , testing in Punjab is yet to gather pace. As per the data from the health ministry, there are 33 active cases of Covid in Punjab.
The state conducted less than 100 Covid tests in seven districts in the last 24 hours. Two positive cases were found in Jalandhar on Sunday. The total number of patients infected with coronavirus in Punjab has reached 7,85,476.

As many as 76,4930 patients have recovered. The death toll due to coronavirus in the state stands at 20,513. On January 8, a total of 5,865 Covid samples were taken and 5,551 tests were conducted.
At only 20, Mansa registered the lowest Covid testing on Sunday while 29 tests were conducted in SBS Nagar. Besides, 68 Covid tests were conducted in Fazilka, 74 in Malerkotla, 94 in Barnala, 96 in Moga and 99 in Ferozepur.

The states were more than 200 samples were taken are 866 in Jalandhar, Ludhiana (658), Amritsar (579), Tarn Taran (480), Hoshiarpur (380), Pathankot (283), Sangrur (266), Ropar (248), Gurdaspur (225), Kapurthala (204 ) and Bathinda (201).
