Punjab weather update: Monsoon remains weak; light rain likely in parts of state
Punjab Weather Update: The monsoon continues to remain weak in Punjab, causing additional discomfort for the people. The temperature has risen by 0.8 degrees in the last 24 hours due to increasing heat.
This year's rainfall in Punjab has been consistently low. So far in July, there has been 43% less rain.
The Meteorological Department has stated that light rain is likely in several parts of the state on Thursday, providing some relief to residents.
In Himachal Pradesh, rain-related disasters have killed 47 people and damaged property worth lakhs of rupees. Due to rain, 15 routes from Malla Kari have been closed to vehicular traffic. Mandi has 12 closed roads, whereas Kinnaur and Kangra each have one.
Meanwhile, the national capital woke up to light rain on Thursday morning, providing relief from the continuously humid weather.
On Wednesday, the Delhi-NCR saw torrential rain, resulting in serious waterlogging in various areas, including the Zakhira underpass, NH-24 highway, Moti Bagh, Tughlaq road, Akshardham flyover, and RK Puram.
Following this, the Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory about heavy traffic on Mahatma Gandhi Marg due to serious waterlogging at the Nigam Bodh Ghat.
