The Counter Intelligence in a joint operation with the Border Security Force on Wednesday recovered 22 pistols and 44 magazines allegedly smuggled from Pakistan. According to information, the CI and BSF conducted a search operation in the Khemkaran area following a tip-off. The security forces seized 22 pistols 30 bore, 44 magazines, and 1 kg of heroin besides 100 live cartridges and 72 gm opium. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi condemned the Centre's decision to extend the Border Security Force (BSF)'s jurisdiction over a wider area along the borders of three states and said that it is a "direct attack on federalism". BSF says 5 infiltrators killed along India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab Also, he requested the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to immediately roll back this irrational decision.
