Punjab and Haryana High Court asks State government to file Affidavit on school fee by Friday

Several parents moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking directions to the state of Punjab and other respondents against charging an admission fee, annual and development charges by private schools for the academic year 2020-2021. Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday resumed hearing on the issue of school fee. Parents of school students have demanded that the institutions should be asked to charge only tuition fees on the basis of actual classes conducted online. The lawyers from parents’ bodies started their arguments on Monday. Meanwhile, the court has been adjourned till the next hearing, which is scheduled to be held on Friday. The High court has asked the state government to file an Affidavit over school fee. The court has also asked to issue a clarification on its stand on the matter of school fee.
