SAD, AAP, LIP MLA’s walk out of Punjab Assembly

High voltage drama was witnessed on the second day of the two-day special session of the Punjab Assembly on Friday when Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators walked out of the Vidhan Sabha in a protest against the Congress government not wanting to “discuss important issues.” As the special session reconvened after the obituary references, Akali-BJP MLAs walked out of the assembly. They were staging protest against the government who did not want to discuss important issues related to Punjab. Likewise, AAP MLAs staged protest walked out of the House as well. The SAD-BJP MLAs staged a second walkout, after a special privileges committee decided to take an action against a Punjabi school teacher, who worked as journalist with a TV channel. https://www.ptcnews.tv/shiromani-akali-dal-sukhbir-singh-badal-congress-killing-of-sikhs-en/ Meanwhile, the Punjab Water Resources (Management and Regulation) Bill was raised for the discussion, after which Lok Insaf Party (LIP) MLAs Balwinder Singh Bains and Simarjit Singh Bains, demanded that if the government wanted to raise water use charges, then it must charge Rajasthan for the river water supplied to it. As the Speaker did not allow them to speak, SAD and AAP MLAs protested in the well of the House. Then, the two MLAs walked out of the House. On the second day of the special session, the house paid tributes to senior journalist Shangara Singh Bhullar and Prof Surjit Hans, an eminent Punjabi writer and Sikh historian. -PTC News
