Soon after cricketer Suresh Raina requested Punjab police to look into the matter of attack on his relatives, the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh assured him that the guilty would be brought to justice.
Taking to Twitter, Captain Amarinder Singh said: "Condole the brutal attack on the kin of Suresh Raina in Pathankot. Have ordered an SIT probe into the case and have asked DGP Punjab Police to identify and arrest the culprits at the earliest. Beta, my DC, and SSP have met the family and we will make sure that the guilty are brought to justice."
Suresh Raina had tweeted: "What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical & is on life support."
"Till date, we don’t know what exactly had happened that night & who did this. I request @PunjabPoliceInd to look into this matter. We at least deserve to know who did this heinous act to them. Those criminals should not be spared to commit more crimes," he added.
In a major incident, a 58-year-old uncle of cricketer Suresh Raina had died while 4 members of his relatives were injured after some robbers attacked them in the Pathankot district of Punjab.
