Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann launches online driving licence facility
Chandigarh, June 14: With Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday launching the online driving licence facility, people of the state can now get learner’s driving licence sitting at home with a single click of their computer or mobile.
The Punjab Chief Minister, while launching www.sarathi.parivahan.gov.in portal, termed it as a revolutionary decision of the Punjab Government, which would save time, money and energy of those looking to get learner’s driving licence made. He said this would also help check corruption.

With the launch of this facility, the people of Punjab would not have the need to visit RTA offices. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said the people of the state would now be able to get the learner’s driving licence just at a single click of their computer, mobile, tablet or phone while sitting at their home.
The procedure
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said an applicant could apply for learning licence at www.sarathi.parivahan.gov.in. He/She will have to first upload Aadhar card, thereafter after selecting the application for learning licence, the applicant can appear for online test. After passing the test, the approval would come immediately. After downloading the same, an the applicant can its print it and use it.

Facility will continue at service centre too
Apart from this, the facility of Learning Driving Licence will also be available all service centres. The same can be applied by visiting the centre, but the applicant would have to give online traffic signs test.

It will check corruption, claims CM
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the decision would help check corruption. Last year, 5.21 lakh people had got the learning licence made, but now applicants would not have to visit any office.
