Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh announces Rs 4 lakh to the kin of prisoners killed by lightning in Ludhiana Jail
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday has announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4 lakh each to the kin of the two prisoners killed by a lightning strike in Ludhiana’s Borstal Jail. The deceased has been identified as Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha and Rishabh, both hailed from Ludhiana district. As per reports, both died when lightning struck inside the prison precincts. Also, two of the prisoners were injured in the incident. While expressing anguish over the incident, Captain Amarinder directed the Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana to ensure the best possible free medical treatment to the injured who are identified as Rajwinder Singh and Gurdeep Singh.
